No. The Florida Fire Prevention Code and the Florida Department of Agriculture prohibits this type of activity in urban/suburban areas such as the City of Altamonte Springs.

It is illegal to use any kind of firework that shoots through the air or detonates. This includes roman candles, firecrackers, mortars or other similar devices. Sparklers that are held or remain on the ground are legal when used in a safe manner.

The City maintains the fire hydrants located on public rights-of-way. Fire hydrants on private property are the responsibility of the property owner and must be inspected annually by a licensed fire protection contractor. In addition, the property owner is responsible for painting the hydrant barrel red. The City will flow test and paint the caps and bonnet of private fire hydrants to indicate water is available from the fire hydrant.

Yes. Under state law, all fire extinguishers in commercial and multi-family properties must be inspected annually and tagged by a state licensed fire equipment dealer.
