Does the City repair sidewalks?
Standard maintenance of public sidewalks (i.e., pressure washing and keeping sidewalks clear for pedestrian traffic) is the responsibility of the owner of the real estate along which the sidewalk was constructed. If your sidewalk has become slippery, we ask that you clean the affected area to remove algae or mold. Upon inspection, should you find the sidewalk in need of structural repair, please call (407) 571-8607.

1.
Can the City install a “Children at Play” sign on my street?
These signs have not been shown to increase driver awareness and are not recognized as a standard highway sign by the Federal Highway Administration. Studies have shown no evidence that these signs prevent pedestrian accidents or decrease the vehicle speeds. Children at play signs also give parents and children a false sense of security and can be misinterpreted to mean that it's okay to play in the street. It is important that parents teach their children about the dangers of playing near or in the street and should discourage them from doing so; no sign can replace the parent’s responsibility to monitor their children. For these reasons, the City of Altamonte Springs Sign Shop Department will not install CHILDREN AT PLAY signs.

Who do I call if a City street sign has been vandalized?
To report a street sign down or damaged, call the City’s Sign Shop at (407) 571-8531.
3.
Who do I call to report a pothole?
Not all streets within City limits are maintained by the City. Seminole County and FDOT also have maintenance responsibilities for streets within the City limits. City maintained streets should have the City emblem placed next to the street name. To report a pothole on a City street, please call (407) 571-8607.
