What are the laws or regulations on car restraints for children?
Florida State Statute 316.613 states that if any child is 3 years of age or younger and transported in a motor vehicle, they shall be properly secured in a separate crash-tested carrier restraint. After reaching 4 years of age, children may be secured with regular seat belts. Technicians are available at the C.O.P.S. center by appointment on Thursdays between 9 and 11 a.m. (except holidays) to teach you how to install them.
