The City of Altamonte Springs’ contractor is now removing downed trees from the Little Wekiva River that fell during Hurricane Irma. Fallen trees and associated debris are flooding hazards, and the City is working to mitigate these risks.
Work is scheduled to be completed in early November. Crews may be in the river cutting and transporting materials to predetermined access locations weekdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances for Noise Prohibitions. Unless your property is an access location, the contractor will not be on your property outside of the river bank.
This project is made possible largely in part by a grant awarded to the City from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program.
