Drinking Water

It is the City of Altamonte Springs’ goal to provide a safe and dependable supply of drinking water for our customers. Our water source is fresh groundwater drawn from the Floridan Aquifer. The treatment process includes well pumping, tray aeration to remove hydrogen sulfide, chlorination for disinfection, fluoridation for dental health purposes, and corrosion inhibitor (orthophosphate) for corrosion control in the distribution system.

The City routinely monitors for contaminants in our drinking water according to Federal and State laws, rules and regulations. An annual report is prepared to present the results of this monitoring for the period of January 1 to December 31. The most recent water quality report is available by clicking the link below. The results indicate our water system had no violations and is in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
