Division Function and Responsibilities
The Building/Fire Safety Division is
responsible for conformance to the Florida
Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention
Code for all new construction and existing
commercial businesses within the City of
Altamonte Springs. The Building/Fire Safety
Division serves as an efficient "one-stop"
shop for the customer. Permitting, plans
review, and all inspection services are
handled from one location. Inspectors are
certified and licensed in multi-disciplines
allowing the inspection staff to more
effectively perform both building trade and
fire inspection services. Additional
essential services involve code development
and compliance; quality assurance
inspections of fire sprinkler systems; cause
and origin fire investigations; and
maintenance inspections of existing
occupancies.
