the City of Altamonte
Springs, all businesses
must pay both a City
and County business tax.
This tax is for the privilege
of engaging in a
business, trade or
occupation within our City.
Some businesses require a State license, as well, and we require a copy of this license prior to issuing the City’s Business Tax Receipt. Both City and County Business Tax Receipts may be obtained from the City Clerk Department. If you are opening a new business in the city or are interested in possibly doing so we offer this Business Information Guide.
The City Clerk Department maintains a complete listing of all businesses taxed in our City and can answer inquiries regarding these businesses. Any complaints concerning business practices, however, should be addressed to the Better Business Bureau (407-621- 3300).
To apply for a Business Tax Receipt, call 407-571-8116 or visit the City Clerk Department, 202 Newburyport Ave., across from the Municipal Complex. We also offer the application for the Business Tax Receipt and related Ownership information form in portable document format (pdf) which may be downloaded from this site. We are not prepared to accept applications via internet submittal at this time, so you will still have to mail or carry your application to the above address.
