The Altamonte Springs Police Department has established a Police Explorer Program. Our mission is to enlarge our post with enthusiastic and active young persons who are interested in developing a working knowledge of law enforcement responsibilities through relationships with members of the Altamonte Springs Police Department. Explorers will be trained in areas of law enforcement for competition, but more importantly they will receive training that will assist them in accomplishing their life goals. They will be provided a roadmap to success with an emphasis on education and community involvement. Participation as an Explorer may be eligible to earn community service hours needed to apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship programs.
The five areas of program emphasis will be:
· Career Opportunities
· Leadership Skills
· Life Skills
· Service Learning
· Character Education
