Court Liaison/Victim Assistance Coordinator

Breadcrumbs

The Court Liaison is primarily responsible for maintaining an effective and consistent line of communication between the Altamonte Springs Police Department, the State Attorney’s Office, and the Clerk of the Court.  In doing so, the Court Liaison reviews most arrest and capias requests prior to being submitted to the State Attorneys Office and Clerk of Court.  The Court Liaison handles all subpoenas and trial notifications that are delivered to the department.  Her role is also to ensure our officers are properly notified and aware of scheduled court dates.  By establishing and maintaining daily contact with these outside entities, the Court Liaison has become the vital ingredient quite often needed to successfully prosecute a case.

The Court Liaison is also responsible for monitoring the City’s tow service contract to ensure all contractual requirements are met.  The City contracts annually for “nonconsensual” tow services.  A nonconsensual tow occurs when a police officer orders a vehicle towed, or when a driver involved in a crash has no preference for who tows the vehicle.  We closely monitor the tow company given the award for compliance with pricing, response times, and customer service.  Random telephone surveys are conducted to solicit feedback from customers.

Along with her other duties our Court Liaison also serves as the Altamonte Springs Police Department's Victim Assistance Coordinator.  In this role, the Court Liaison is the "point of contact" for victims regarding available services, prosecution/case status (once an arrest is made or charges are filed), and what to expect as a particular case progresses through the court system.  If you wish to learn more about services available to you, please click the link below.  If you do not find the information you are seeking, please contact the Court Liaison for additional assistance.
